Yours Monetarily

Whoever you are, you are living on the generosity of others, need not necessarily be all in monetary terms. You are profiteering from the trickery that has gone on around us for too long. Here is how it is.

Wisdom and wisemen advise you that your life shouldn’t be about money and then your religious orientation perhaps teaches you to be unselfish and just be good.

“ Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them”.

“I’ll say it again—it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God”.

And some has taken these words literally but then …are these not to be literally taken? Oh you have to have it selectively apply your logic only where .. Are you not supposed to keep up with the Johns’? I am confused.

Back on to life outside that bubble and to the daily chaos and work, your orientation of not that selfish means you are not perhaps a bit greedy either and perhaps not very competitive either on account of that if that be argued.

Let’s simplify this. If you have to form a line in which only the frontline few get to the pie, you form one but not all of you can be at the top and the once who are at the back of the line accepted their fate and that too without a hustle. Now you need that generosity of the few who has (graciously or grumpily) accepted those rules of play and ended up on the wrong end of the line. Mathematically it is impossible for you’ll’ to be at the top. So you have to win some. But in real life you see some who invariably all the time end up on that unenviable spot on every line they form. We call them loses though some may have ended up there on circumstances, civic values, age and physical constraints. But it is on their vulnerability that the victors are thriving.

Having said the above you might say that I am in that position of he who got his foot in the mouth. Yes, I admit, nor was I born with a silver spoon in my mouth…. This money matter is a double-edged weapon. How far is Klondike?

New year 24 Wishes and wishful thinking

One wonders if there really is anything in a new year other than the hype and the resolutions that falls apart right soon thereafter.

Some say the best workable resolution is not to have one. Schools and Jobs are usually the same and the Sun a ditto. However, more and more people around the world are celebrating it, even as we are going through periods of turmoil, in what is interpreted as a western influence. At least there is a school in India who thinks it that way which I can vouchsafe from my observations living there in my childhood. That the social media has redefined New year is a fact that is uncontested.

In any case, we all consider it somehow a new beginning and hence somewhat ritualistic.

Well, there indeed is some significance especially here in North America for the working class, as you get a fresh allotment of medical coverage, vacation, and sick days.

So, we do have reason for some enthusiasm, as we begin the month of January on the Gregorian calendar, a name derived from Janus the Roman God of beginnings and endings, gates, passages and doorways. As a door tender with two faces, one facing the future and the other surveying the past, Janus has had a better perspective on things. As the master of transitions, changes and time, Janus presided over the beginning and ending of conflicts and hence war and peace.

And with that notion and hope, let me wish my readers an abundance of peace health and prosperity this new year.

As for my passion – writing – there is a new dimension as I am beginning to write a news round up. News which I consider as newsworthy from world over collected primarily from the media will be highlighted on a regular basis, weekly, I am considering for now because daily might be a tough task. In times of fake news and populist news, some conventions don’t hurt I reckon.

So, for now this new year let me present you all in earnest.

Way to go cheers!!
