AI dominated the Promenade far more than crypto firms, reversing a trend from the past few years. Pitchbook a marketing presentation in the investment banking which tracks angel, seed, and early-stage investments at the world’s 15 most successful venture firms, found that AI and machine learning startups gained far more investments lately, significant on the background of the approval of a bitcoin ETF by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission recently.

1.How humans have changed the Earth’s surface in 2023

Click : How humans have changed the Earth’s surface in 2023 (bbc.com)

There is talk about climate change and how humans are destroying the environment. But other than the obvious, factory emissions, fossil fuel and deforestation, what other observable activities can there be that can give us a measure of things as to how we are reshaping entire landscapes around us ? Here is an insight into some of the more visible and observable human interventions: urban development, large-scale engineering works and mining projects in the above BBC article.

2.How there are more Dinosaur fossils in North America compared to Russia

Click : The Extinct Gone But Not Forgotten Seven Russian Dinosaurs in a TASS special project

One might assume, in the current circumstances that any Russian view would be to demystify the North American claims of unearthing Dinosaur fossils especially in a science that has had questionable claims. On the contrary, they are on board in as far as unravelling any underlying doubts about this fossil theory in setting out a few postulations. This article in the Tass discusses why are dinosaur fossils often found in America and Canada and not in Russia.

3. Conflict wise, is civilisation at the worst of times?

Click : Record number of civilians hurt by explosives in 2023 (bbc.com)

Human history is of conflicts, and we have gone through two world wars with the casualty between 10 and 15 million at least on each. Comparing other times, a record number of civilians were hurt by explosives in 2023 and the war in Gaza on top of the other major events, is the main cause of the sharp rise in civilian casualties. The UK-based charity Action on Armed Violence (AOAV) recorded a 122% percent increase in civilian fatalities caused by explosives.

1. USA election about to kick off.

Click : Iowa Caucus 2024: Trump’s rivals give him a pass on Jan. 6 attacks | Reuters

All eyes are in the formal take-off of the primaries and caucuses of the presidential elections. Through the years the tone of the candidates and the media has changed to be more acerbic in nature. Especially with respect to the ongoing legal issues around the frontline republican candidate Trump, the atmosphere this time around is electric. While Trump is fighting two rulings from Meine and Colorado who removed him from the ballets, he mesmerises in his ability to rebound and rally his supporters.

2. US mission in Iraq in limelight

Click : Iraq prepares to close down U.S-led coalition’s mission – PM statement | Reuters

Recall the times when Colin Powell flashed the document of the Weapons of mass destruction in the lead up to the second Iraq war? Lots of water has flown under the bridge as Iraq prepares to close down U.S-led coalition’s mission as reported by Reuters and as coming from Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s office, a day after a U.S. strike killed a militia leader in Baghdad, prompting anger among Iran-aligned groups which demanded the government end the presence of the coalition in Iraq

3. Implementation of Putin-Kim agreements in full swing, says Lavrov

Click : Implementation of Putin-Kim agreements in full swing, says Lavrov – Russian Politics & Diplomacy – TASS

Very little is discussed in the western media on the topic I observe, but there indeed are prominent agreements between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin or so it is implied. As to the specifics perhaps we would never know as we only see references to physical culture and sports from these very measured words from the Russian foreign minister here. There is no reference about the war in the black sea though much can be left to interpretations.

The organism, classed a “priority-one critical pathogen” by the World Health Organization, can cause very serious invasive blood and chest infections in critically ill hospital patients. The significance of this discovery is immense as the last antibiotic that reached the market Lipopeptides goes back to the year 1987, with the challenges that leads to that situation elaborated in the following article.

Curious matters picked up from the Toronto Star Canada and Times of India with the pertinent links

  1. Toronto just saw the worst year for home sales in 23 years.
  2. Top race. India’s riches battle it out.
  3. Uranus and Neptune Reveal Their True Colors

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

1. Toronto just saw the worst year for home sales in 23 years.

Bubble watching has been a passion as much as a preoccupation for a considerable generation for a generation now. For real estate trouble has been real for some whichever way you looked at it. Either the homeless (by that I mean hopeless compeers who wants to own a home) or the homeowners- some multiple and its investment affiliations. Books and articles galore of an imminent burst. But this is a beast that is just only looming large as you chip at it …

2. Top race. India’s riches battle it out.

Click : Gautam Adani News Today: Gautam Adani surpasses Mukesh Ambani, emerges as India’s richest man | TOI Original – Times of India Videos (indiatimes.com)

Adani Group’s Gautam Adani overtakes Mukesh Ambani on the Bloomberg Billionaire’s Index, emerging as India and Asia’s wealthiest. Ranked 12th globally, Adani’s net worth is $97.6 billion, with recent gains of $7.67 billion and a year-to-date increase of $13.3 billion. Despite setbacks in 2023, the group remains a pivotal player in India’s infrastructure and global coal trading. Adani’s wealth primarily stems from ownership in six publicly traded group-affiliated companies, including Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports, Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani Total Gas.

3. Uranus and Neptune Reveal Their True Colors

The mightiest fall of it all was of Pluto, stripped off from the galaxy and the immensity of our minds. The unkindest cut – Shakespeare would have lamented. Pluto was relegated  to just a dwarf planet in the Kuiper belt. However, the rest of the planets are all still somehow hanging in up there and they need to be even more colorful in the vista of your imaginations. No need to have the blues really ‘cause it is just a matter of time for all the stars align for you.

Let’s see what it looks like in a fortnight…

Thanks for reading
